Covo Perennial African Kale

£10.00

A delicious type of perennial kale often grown in Zimbabwe hence the name.
These rooted cuttings will grow over time into a large bush type plant up to 1m in height and spread. More plants can be gained by taking cuttings as this type will not flower and set seed in the uk climate. It is however extremely hardy and has survived happily down to -10 in my garden.

Leaves can be picked virtually all year round and make a tasty addition to salads if picked small or used in soups, stews or as a side dish as the leaves remain tender even when large.

Best grown on free draining soil and mulched with organic matter in the autumn.

A brilliant addition to the perennial edible garden.
